Empowering Learning are recruiting Psychology & Sociology Graduates to work on a full or part-time basis as a Learning Support Assistant within Mainstream Primary and SEND Schools across Southwark. You will be supporting pupils with different SEND needs such as MLD, ADHD, PMLD, SEMH and ASC. This position will give anyone considering a future in teaching valuable classroom-based experience working as a 1:1 support assistant. We are seeking enthusiastic and hands-on Teaching Assistants that can take direction. If you are looking to start a career in Education, this is a great way to get yourself started, and this role will also suit anyone looking for part-time work while studying.

Job Responsibilities

  • Comfortable supporting pupils with various Learning Difficulties
  • Ability to engage and support pupils
  • Assist with personal care if needed
  • Supervising children's behaviour

Job Requirements

  • Experience of supporting children or young adults with learning difficulties or disabilities desirable
  • Able to stay calm and de-escalate challenging Behaviour
  • Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
  • Available 5 days a week and able to commit to at least 4-months
