Separate dog and cat wards to improve the welfare of their patients.

Due to continued growth they a now seeking a small animal Veterinary Surgeon (new grads considered) seeking a new challenge.

They will ensure that you will be able to develop and hone your own clinical skills – in a very friendly and enjoyable environment.

The practice is situated 13 miles (21 km) to the south-west of Sunderland and 18 miles (29 km) to the south of Newcastle.

Durham is a hilly cathedral city, claiming to be built upon the symbolic seven hills. Upon the most central and prominent position high above the Wear, the cathedral dominates the skyline. The steep riverbanks are densely wooded, adding to the picturesque beauty of the city.

The Job Role details:

An exciting opportunity has arisen at my clients fabulous veterinary practice for a full time veterinary surgeon (would consider a 4 day week).

Average working week of 38hrs.

The hospital does it own OOH.

Beautiful 2 bed accommodation is available.

Aim of the role:

My client is looking for an enthusiastic, confident, team player, cheerful vet who is willing to get stuck in.

My clients work very closely with the RSPCA, so an individual with strong animal welfare ethics is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

To be a full time veterinary surgeon.

Duties will include consulting, surgical procedures, minor procedures, client liaison, working up cases, caring for hospitalised animals, treatment plans and visits.

Four or Five day week.

The hospital does its own OOH on a 1:6 rota.

Ideal Person Skills and Qualifications:

MUST be a qualified RCVS registered Vet.

MUST be an enthusiastic, confident, team player, cheerful and vet who is willing to get stuck in.

IDEALLY looking for at least 1-2 yrs of UK experience or more, however a new graduate would be considered.

IDEALLY will live in the beautiful 2-bed accommodation provided, or would live within 30mins of the practice.

Additional Information:

25 days holiday plus bank holidays

Generous CPD allowance

Pension scheme

38hrs per week.

Salary package:

£25,000 - £60,000 depending upon experience

Beautiful 2 bed accommodation available.
