Tradewind Recruitment is extremely busy and established education supply agency based in Bristol and we are looking for graduate candidates to support children with additional needs in schools. We are working in partnership with a range of different settings in Bristol such as, Special Schools, Pupil Referral Units and Alternative education settings. We are seeking flexible individuals looking for either part-time or full-time opportunities in the area. Working hours are generally between 0815-1530 during the week and term time only. We are looking for experience or knowledge in one of the following areas of SEND needs, such as Physical disabilities, Autism, Dyslexia, SpLD, Aspergers, SEMH or Literacy and Behaviour support.
Main responsibilities and duties of the role of a behaviour focused learning support assistant are:
Assisting the young people in their work, either in small groups or in classes, supporting a specific student on a 1:1 basis
Helping the students to remain focussed and on task Supporting students with SEND/SEMH, including ASC and SpLD (Specific Learning Difficulty)
Supporting the class teacher with differentiation so all students can access the curriculum
Offer empathetic, engaging approach and support to the pupil both academically and pastorally
Create a fun, fair and learning environment
Be available at least once a week regularly to work 0815-1530 hours during term time
Being willing to assist with personal care requirements such as feeding, aiding mobility and changing
Always follow school & DFE behaviour and safeguarding policies
Ability and skills to manage challenging behaviour at times in a positive, patient and professional manner as stated within the safeguarding and behaviour policies
Monitor students learning, social, emotional and behavioural progress against targets and report any changes.

*Hold a degree/equivalent qualification in any subject or currently studying towards one
*A strong desire to have a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young people
*Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
*Have a CV covering at least 10 years employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
*Have the legal right to work in the UK
