Graduate Teaching Assistant – Lewisham

Tempest Education are looking to speak to Graduate Teaching Assistants that have a real passion for working with children in an education environment. We’re working with two Primary Schools in the London Borough of Lewisham who are seeking to hire Graduate Teaching Assistants that can work alongside a Class Teacher, work with children on a 1:1 basis and within small groups.  

We’re looking to speak with ambitious graduates from all degrees, but are particularly interested in speaking with graduates who have a degree in the following:

• Degree in Primary Education
• Degree in Psychology
• Degree in English & Literature
• Degree in Maths
• Degree in Criminology and Psychotherapy

The Primary Schools:

As mentioned above, two Primary Schools in Lewisham are seeking to hire graduate teaching assistants to be part of their staffing team. A Primary School in Catford (SE6) and a Primary School in Grove Park (SE12) will be holding trial days and/or interviews as soon as possible for the following positions:

• Teaching Assistant to working across KS1/KS2
• Year 6 Teaching Assistant
• Year 1 Teaching Assistant (1:1)
• Early Years Teaching Assistant

Essentially, you will be working alongside the Class Teacher and liaising with the school SENDCo. No experience is required for this as you will have the necessary training and support needed at all times. However, having suitable teaching or education experience will help to further support your application. This position is perfect for someone who is pro-active, enthusiastic and can use their initiative when needed. Aspiring Teachers who are thinking about a school’s direct route are encouraged to apply.

This opportunity is on a fixed term contract until July 2022 with a further chance for the contract to go permanent/school’s direct route.
