Are you a graduate thinking about a career in Teaching? Would you like to receive free training, a paid placement and a long term job in a local SEND school? If so, we would love to hear from you.

About the role

Vision for Education are urgently recruiting graduates to take part in our National Teaching Assistant Programme (NTAP). No experience is necessary, as full training will be provided, followed by a paid placement and then long term work supporting students in a local SEND school. This is the ideal opportunity for graduates thinking about a career in Teaching, but not in a position to commit to a PGCE. Many of our Graduate Teaching Assistants in the past have gone on to be put through their teaching qualification by schools they have worked in on supply.

About the school

Vision for Education work with SEND schools all over the North East. We work with a diverse range of special schools that cater for young people with ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition), MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties), SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties) and many other complex issues.

To be considered for the role of Graduate Trainee Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Have an empathetic but outgoing approach.
  • Have an ability to engage young people that cannot access mainstream schooling.
  • Have a passion for working with and helping young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Be qualified to degree level.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Relevant experience

Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
