I am currently recruiting for confident reliable graduates for flexible temporary work as cover supervisors in a vibrant secondary academy in Oldham.

The role is from September 2022 to July 2023 on an ad hoc day to day supply basis

The Role

Graduate Cover Supervisor

Working hours are 8.30am to 3.20pm

The role will include:

  • Taking the lead in the absence of the teacher
  • Sole responsibility for teaching and learning
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons
  • Using provided resources to encourage learning
  • Managing the behaviour within the classroom
  • Developing independent study skills and peer learning
  • Pastoral and learning support
  • Managing handover back to the teacher
  • Experience of teaching or covering Maths or English would be beneficial

We welcome applications from graduates with experience of:

  • Working in schools or colleges
  • Sports coaching
  • Youth work - especially experience at MAHDLO
  • Drama Workshop / drama school/ theatre in education/ Art workshop
  • Teaching children or leading children's clubs in community groups or places of worship such as teaching in a Mosque
  • Breakfast clubs/ After school club
  • Summer Camps/ PGL
  • Scouts/Guides/Brownies/Cubs
  • Outdoor activities instructor / Duke of Edinburgh/ orienteering with young people

To join us and be successful in this graduate cover supervisor role, you will need to:

  • a minimum of six week's experience in the last 3 years of working with groups of children or teenagers
  • A referee Tradewind can contact to take a detailed reference to account for this experience
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
  • Provide a CV with 10 years of employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
  • Bachelor's degree or similar equivalent qualification
  • Able to get to Oldham by 8.30 with 30 minutes notice.
