The Company

Our client is a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor with a turnover of approximately £400m. They are known for their involvement in some of the largest and most prestigious developments in the UK, with projects typically ranging between £50m-£150m. Their portfolio includes a range of projects such as residential developments, high-end hotels, student living accommodations, and large-scale commercial/office blocks.

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The successful candidate will be both office and site-based, with the opportunity to work on some of the largest and most prestigious projects in the UK.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.
  • Evaluate and price variations in the contract.
  • Analyze drawings and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
  • Identify potential cost-saving measures and provide recommendations to the project team.
  • Monitor and control costs throughout the project, ensuring that budgets are adhered to.
  • Measure and value the work done on site.
  • Prepare and submit interim and final payment applications.
  • Prepare cost reports and financial statements.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Good knowledge of construction methods and materials.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant software such as Excel, Word, and industry-specific software.
