Qualiteach are recruiting psychology graduates to support SEN pupils to reach their full potential by using behaviour-based techniques as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
The schools we recruit for across South London are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants from a Psychology background. These SEN Teaching assistant opportunities are for psychology graduates who are looking to develop their careers in the field of education and gain hands on experience of supporting SEN children.
Salary: £85-£95 per day
Hours/Days: Monday to Friday, term-time - 8.30am-4pm
What will I be doing in the Schools?
- Provide support to pupils, following individualised learning plans
- Prepare and support in delivering lessons and activities, focusing largely on skills and adapted approaches.
- Support pupils' participation!
- Provide behavioural and emotional support.
- Monitor pupil progress, ensuring activities are appropriate and effective for each child's needs.
- Assist with breaktime duties including playground support and snack time.
- Contribute to planning and delivery of lessons and undertake training to support your personal development.
What do you need?
- This advert is aimed at psychology graduates however we welcome support staff from many backgrounds with relatable skills and experience.
- Skills to comfortably work with young people / children with complex needs.
- Ability to keep calm in challenging situations.
- Ability to commute and commit to a full-time, long-term role.
- Ability to build rapport with young people and adhere to safeguarding.
- Positive and resilient attitude with a proactive and reliable work ethic.
We have support roles within both primary and secondary year groups.
You will need full right to work and be able to provide compliance documents before starting work. Including providing referee details of your most recent employment and / or studies and providing proof of a DBS Certificate that is registered on the update service or be able to process one with us via our application process.
