Graduate Town Planner / Assistant Town Planner

An exciting opportunity has presented itself for an ambitious Graduate Town Planner to join a well-established Planning and Environmental Consultancy at their Galway office!

My client operates across Ireland and the UK from their Galway and Liverpool offices, and specialises in infrastructure, primarily renewable energy, and wireless telecommunications. The role will involve assisting seniors on several infrastructure planning applications amongst many other tasks in a busy and dynamic environment. This offers a unique opportunity to have a very wide-ranging role within the company as well as a genuine opportunity to grow your career rapidly within the company in the coming years!

Duties of the role:

• Assist on planning applications.
• Undertaking background research, desk studies, site visits and preparing planning reports.
• Working collaboratively with clients, colleagues, and external consultants.
• Analyse planning policy and make recommendations to clients and colleagues.
• Liaising with Planning Authorities and other statutory bodies.
• Attendance at meetings with clients, project teams and other stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements:

• A recognised IPI or RTPI degree in a planning related field essential.
• Ideally relevant post-graduate private/public sector experience, however fresh graduates are encouraged to apply!
• Good knowledge of the Irish planning system ideally.
• Candidates with relevant UK experience will also be considered for the role.
• Full Driving Licence and own vehicle (ideal).
