JOB- Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer

 

LOCATION- West Sussex

 

TERM- Permanent

 

SALARY- £25,000 - £30,000 per annum (plus benefits)

 

My client designs and manufactures a range of products and they are looking to take on a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the West Sussex area.

 

The Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Degree BSc / BEng qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar (HNC/ HND / NVQ may also be considered)
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software- ideally Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD / iLogic but other programmes might also be considered
  • 0-2 years or more industry experience
  • Have the ability to carry out mechanical calculations
  • Any previous experience of working with steel / metal materials would be desirable
  • Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
  • Have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Be keen to develop with a company long term
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office
 

The Graduate Mechanical Designer Engineer role will involve:

  • Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers
  • Seeing through design projects from concept through to completion
  • Producing 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor CAD software and 2D designs with AutoCAD
  • Generating the BOM’s to go with the associated designs
  • Liaising with colleagues on other engineering tasks as required
