Sports Graduate – work in schools

Full time temporary to permanent role, 5 days a week during term time. This will be offered as permanent employment for the right candidate, subject to successful training and probation period.

January 2024 – ongoing.

Annual (term time only) salary equivalent £18,500- £20,500 per year

The School and Role

A new post based within one of our specialist partner settings in Calderdale.  Your passion for fitness, sport and exercise is invaluable to our young people to compliment other aspects of their education. Physical education has a vital role to play in wellbeing, mental and physical health as well as attitudes and development of our young people.

This role will predominantly involve working with young people between the ages of 8 and 19 years supporting them within an education (school) environment.  You will be supported by, and able to learn from highly skilled practitioners. You will receive quality training to ensure you have the knowledge, skill and information required to operate successfully, and undertake all aspects of your role to the best of your ability., 

Requirements

As well as classroom based aspects, you will be open to taking part in, or even responsibility for leading a range of activities in our great British weather! You must have the patience, empathy and tenacity to support young people from a variety of backgrounds and educational abilities, have an unconditionally positive mindset, be in good health and physically active, as well as interested in healthy and active lifestyles and supporting young people to become the best that they can be both in and outside of classrooms. Whilst the role will also involve support of classroom based academic learning, your sports background has an essential role to play supporting enrichment and delivery of a broad, tailored curriculum supporting excellent quality of life.

You must hold or be prepared for us to run an Enhanced DBS check registered to the update service as well as undertake our referencing and selection processes.
