We are now recruiting for a number of high calibre Graduate Engineers on behalf of our client, a leading offshore oil & gas and renewable energy engineering contractor based in London, to join a graduate training scheme from September 2024. 

Our client is looking for recent graduates, or those with some recent post graduate work experience within the structural or naval engineering industries to work as trainee installation engineers within the offshore engineering sector. 

You must have a minimum of a 2:1 grade in either Civil, Structural or Naval Engineering (or be predicted this if graduating in summer 2024).  We are unable to consider applications from candidates with other degree subjects. 

Training Course:

The successful candidates will join a bespoke training scheme for Offshore Installation Methods Engineers that includes office, site and offshore installation training and experience on-board a variety of key offshore construction vessels.

The course is tailored to provide training within our client's office to cover the expected engineering and project expectations complemented with specific training courses at fabrication sites, and tailored courses with specialist training providers. 

Our client encourages and supports all engineers in their professional development to achieve Chartered Engineer status.

We require candidates for this course, which will take around 9 months to complete whereby you will be ready to fulfil the Installation Engineer role as described below.

As an Offshore Installation Methods Engineer you will:

  • Provide installation support and engineering design services in the office for various offshore projects.
  • Provide on-site Installation engineering support and be the company's representative for installation preparations on site for the relevant projects.
  • Support the offshore execution phase of installation projects.
  • Assist in the development of procedures, bids and studies for installation work within the company

Key requirements:

  • Recent B.Eng/MEng qualification in Civils/Structural/Naval Engineering (2:1 or 1st)
  • An interest in a mix of office, site and offshore work locations.
  • An understanding of engineering projects.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to travel to sites and offshore
  • An understanding of offshore oil and gas projects is an advantage.

Job Details:

Graduate Training Scheme - Permanent staff.

Start date: September 2024 for a c.9 month graduate training course.  Upon successful completion of this course, you will move into the permanent offshore installation methods engineer role as detailed above. 

Location: SW London.  Please note that travel to sites and offshore locations will be required as part of this role.
