Polytec are looking for a Graduate Mechanical Designer for our client based just north of Cambridge. Due to the village location, you will need to have a driving licence and own transport for this role. Further opportunities to travel with work may be available in due course.

Responsibilities:

* Mechanical design of products
* Assessing the mechanical feasibility of new concepts, including use of simulation programs for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) solutions
* Working with existing company products
* Research into new processes / technologies, contributing to process improvement initiatives
* Customer interaction to provide technical solutions

Requirements:

* Degree (1st or upper 2nd) in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering or similar from an excellent University
* Proficient in the use of SolidWorks CAD
* Scientifically minded, seeks to attain reliable data from which to base decisions
* Excellent problem solver with proven ability to deconstruct complex problems
* Passionate about good design, self-motivated, driven and ambitious
* Knowledgeable in a range of manufacturing / fabrication and finishing processes
* Workshop experience and an interest in making things
* IT literate with capabilities in Microsoft Office, LabVIEW and MATLAB
* Own transport required
