Sports Coaching Graduate Teaching Assistant Full Time Stockport (SK3)

This is an exciting opportunity for those who want to use their coaching skills to help students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
This role is perfect for sports coaching graduates looking to gain experience in education while promoting health, teamwork, and personal development in young people.
Position Overview:
Location: Stockport, SK3
Position: Graduate Teaching Assistant (Sports Coaching background preferred)
Type of Work: Full-time, Long-term (temp-to-permanent)
Start Date: Immediate start
Hours: 8:30 am 3:30 pm (Monday to Friday)
Contract Type: Temporary leading to permanent (after a qualifying period)
Pay: GBP95+ per day, depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
Support students with SEN and SEMH needs, using physical activity and sports to enhance their engagement and promote positive behaviour.
Lead and organise structured sports and physical activities that help students develop teamwork, confidence, and resilience.
Work closely with the class teacher to adapt lessons and integrate physical education into the wider curriculum, ensuring all students can participate and benefit.
Provide 1:1 and small group support, encouraging both personal and academic growth through sports.
Assist with behaviour management by using your coaching skills to foster discipline, motivation, and positive interactions among students.
Qualifications and Experience:
A Sports Coaching degree or relevant qualification is required.
Previous experience working with children or young people in a sports or educational environment is preferred.
A passion for promoting physical health and well-being, and an understanding of how sports can support personal development.
Safeguarding training is desirable but can be provided.
Candidate Requirements:
Right to work in the UK.
Hold or be willing to process an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate, registered with the online update service.
Able to provide two professional references, including one child-related reference.
