In our 12 countries (Europe, Middle East, Asia) of operation, we are working on the production and distribution of low-carbon electricity, through the development of nuclear and renewable energies. We are also supporting the modernisation and development of energy grids, managing the setup and siting for new transmission and distribution networks, and using hydrogen to decarbonise the transport and industry sectors.

As a graduate at Assystem, from Day 1 you will be welcomed to the Assystem family, we will focus on getting you up to speed on what we do, our values, and what you can look forward to on our 2-year experience. Job Description:
As a Graduate S&A Engineer you'll,
- Provide substantiation of components and systems using tools such as Finite Element Analysis and classical hand-calculations.
- Present findings internally to Assystem teams and externally to Clients requiring good communication and presentation skills.
- Offer solutions to issues as they arise, don’t only report problems for others to solve.
- Act independently and also under instruction from the Assystem Lead Engineer.
- Act collaboratively with Assystem teams, clients, and other consultancies that may be supporting your projects.
- Comply with man-hour budgets for assigned tasks.
- Work in accordance with the Assystem quality system.
- Bring innovation to the calculations to improve quality, cost and delivery.
- Assist in proposal writing and other related bidding activities when required.
Essential:
- Minimum 2:1 BEng qualification in an Engineering subject (eg Aerospace, Civil, Automotive, mechanical) or Physics.
- Excellent understanding of the STEM fundamentals (eg solid mechanics, fluids etc).
- Strong interest in the use of computer simulation software and digital calculations. Show us examples of calculations you’re proud of!
- A keen interest to get behind the graphical user interface and really understand what the software is doing.
- The ability to methodologically approach tasks and provide justification for the decisions made during the completion of the simulation.
- An ability to learn new analytical methods within a time-constrained project environment.
- A desire to learn and a keen mind.
Desirable:
- Knowledge and/or interest in coding and programming for automation of tasks (eg python).
- Any exposure to simulation software, eg FEA, CFD, MATLAB, MathCAD etc.
- Evidence of beginning your journey to Chartered status with the Engineering Council.
- Knowledge of how to plan a project in terms of milestones, deliverables, risks, and how you could mitigate those risks.
Requirements for Assystem Graduate Scheme:
- Successful Candidate must be a UK Sole National
- Successful Candidate must be willing to relocate as part of their rotational Scheme (Relocation Support available)
Security Clearance:
The successful applicant must be a UK resident and, due to the nature of the work to be undertaken, applicants will be required to meet this criteria in order to attain a minimum level of BPSS clearance.
