JOB- Graduate CAD Technician    

LOCATION- Dorset    

TERM- Permanent    

SALARY- £26,000 - £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience     

My client is a specialise manufacturer. They are looking for a Graduate CAD Technician to join their team in the Dorset area on a permanent basis.    

The Graduate CAD Technician will ideally have the following attributes:
  • 0-2 years’ experience in a similar CAD Operation / Design Engineering / Mechanical Engineering position
  • Be proficient using 2D CAD software such as AutoCAD
  • Ideally be qualified with a Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar 
  • Any previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment would be beneficial 
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficient using MS Office
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
  • Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
 
The Graduate CAD Technician role will involve:
  • Working within the current engineering team with other CAD Technicians
  • Producing 2D designs using AutoCAD
  • Liaising with manufacturing providers
  • Being involved in final assembly of products
  • Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
  • Updating 3D models and drawings
  • Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
  • Checking drawings for sign off
  • Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
