Are you a recent PE graduate with a passion for working with young people? Looking to gain practical experience in schools before progressing into teaching or coaching?

GSL Education is looking for enthusiastic and motivated PE Graduates to work as Cover Supervisors and Teaching Assistants in secondary schools across Barnsley. This is an exciting opportunity to step into the classroom, develop core teaching skills, and make a meaningful contribution to students’ academic and physical development.

Your Role as a PE Graduate:

• Supervise and lead full-class lessons during teacher absences

• Support pupils in PE lessons, extracurricular sports clubs, and school events

• Offer one-to-one or small group academic support across Key Stages 3 and 4

• Encourage positive behaviour, active participation, and teamwork

• Assist teaching staff in creating an engaging and structured learning environment

What We’re Looking For:

• A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related subject

• A genuine passion for working with children and young people

• Strong communication, leadership, and classroom management skills

• Adaptability and confidence to support various subjects and year groups

• Previous experience with young people (e.g. in coaching, mentoring, or youth work) is desirable

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
